Deck of Scarlet Threeway Solid Lip Oil in Natural Nectar, £25, deckofscarlet.com. This three-in-one lip colour combines the sheen of a gloss, the colour of a lipstick and the care of a balm. A glamorous and handy little space-saver for holiday packing. Available in a range of shades.

Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara, £29, hourglasscosmetics.co.uk. Yes, we know this is pricey as mascaras go, but in our defence we have found this to be properly waterproof even when combining swimming pools and general summer sweat (sorry, ‘skin dew’). It’s a bestseller for a reason.
