If fast fashion wasn't enough, we now introduce you to fast beauty.
We’ve all heard of fast food and fast fashion, but how about fast beauty? The grandmother of fast fashion, Fashion Nova, launched its first beauty line, NovaBeauty, on June 14, adding a new category to its repertoire of inexpensive, expediently delivered products. Drugstore makeup dupes have existed alongside luxury makeup products since, about, the dawn of time, but Fashion Nova’s e-commerce element may just be a game-changer.
The first NovaBeauty drop, the Lip Collection, features three products ranging from $10 to $12: the Perfect Pout Lipstick in 26 shades and 3 finishes, 2-in-1 Snatched Lip Liner in 10 shades, and Moisturizing Rich Glow Lip Gloss in 12 shades. With a multitude of shades and finishes, from hot red to the perfect nude brown, and shimmer to matte, it’s easy to create your perfect lip kit for the summer on a budget.
In a Reel posted on @novabeauty’s Instagram page, a #novababe creates the “Stunning Red Lip,” applying the 2-in-1 Snatched Lip Liner in Red, Luminous Cream Lipstick in Blaze, and Moisturizing Rich Glow Lip Gloss in Dime to her plumped-up pout.
After two years in the making, the 48-piece, cruelty-free and vegan lip collection is only the beginning for Nova Beauty, which has already released previews of its upcoming drop, the Eye Collection, consisting of 29 novel eye and brow products.
On the fashion front, Fashion Nova has been known for their fast-paced, high-volume drops mirroring the micro-trend cycle.
"Fashion Nova has always been about the complete look – an inclusive, head-to-toe aesthetic that is trend-driven, attainable, and high-quality," says Richard Saghian, CEO and Founder of Fashion Nova and NovaBeauty in a press release. "We've taken the same approach with NovaBeauty.”
Fashion Nova’s foray into beauty is not in uncharted territory. In May 2021, fast-fashion retailer Zara released its makeup line, with products ranging from $8 to $26.
Even in its infancy, Nova Beauty has received the celeb stamp of approval, from Selling Sunset stars Chrishell Stause and Amanza Smith to Adriana Lima who Instagram storied the Lip Collection on launch day.
“Wearing the liner in Pink Nude 01 Lipstick in Dream Gloss in Select,” Chrishell captioned her story under @NovaBeauty's 'Nova Babes' Instagram story highlight, panning over the collection while showing off her natural-lips-but-better look.
